Safety is the top priority of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe. Therefore, as has been the case since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must ensure that we practice safety first to protect the health and well-being of our tribal and community members, employees, and customers on the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe’s (PGST) reservation.

The recent increase of COVID-19 cases and deaths, by way of what is known as the Delta Variant, nationally and locally, demands a more intensive response. Therefore, the PGST Tribal Council has passed a resolution mandating all employees provide proof that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to the HR Department on or before Monday November 1, 2021.

As we continue to see the number of COVID-19 cases rise throughout Kitsap County including among our community members and staff the PGST Emergency Command Team has issued recommendations for enhanced worksite safety protocol s. Accordingly, and until further notice, all employees of NKI businesses must implement the following precautions:

  • All Employees , vendors, contractors and others conducting business at our facilities, must wear masks throughout all NKI Facilities.
  • Work meetings are restricted to no more than 15 people (staff are encouraged to meet via Zoom or other on line meeting venue).
  • Staff events serving food must ensure it is individually wrapped and/ or plated.
  • Staff returning from business travel should obtain a COVID-19 test before returning to their work locations
