I’m thrilled to share that the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe has acquired Minder Meats, a well-known meat distribution and retail company in Kitsap County. This acquisition, completed by Noo-Kayet Investments (NKI) in late April, is a significant step for us as we aim to support our economic growth and preserve the legacy of Minder Meats.

As Chairwoman Amber Caldera mentioned, this purchase creates a tremendous opportunity for our Tribe, helping us support treaty rights and the livelihoods of our Tribal members. Eric Croft, Interim CEO at NKI, emphasized that Minder Meats aligns with our values and offers great employment opportunities.

The Minder family, who have operated the company for over 80 years, expressed their gratitude and excitement for the future under our management. Jim Carlson, the most recent owner/operator, believes we are the perfect group to take Minder Meats to the next level.
